Ammonia & CO₂ Refrigeration Safety Training for Food Plants
A food plant with ammonia refrigeration holds a toxic gas inventory that in any other industry would attract major hazard attention. In food manufacturing it sits behind a plant room door and is frequently treated as a maintenance matter.
Anhydrous ammonia is acutely toxic by inhalation, causes severe burns to skin and eyes, and is flammable within a range.
