Safe Execution of Specialized GRP Tank Installation in Abu Dhabi
Nathan Safety Training Services was entrusted by a leading GRP tank manufacturer to provide specialized Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) support for the installation of a 750 m³ Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) water storage tank at a project site in the Al Taweelah Industrial Area, Abu Dhabi.
Recognizing the urgency of the assignment, Nathan Safety mobilized an experienced HSE Engineer within 24 hours, enabling the project to commence without delay. Our engineer collaborated closely with the client’s project team, lifting contractor, local consultant, and site management to ensure every stage of the installation was executed safely and efficiently.
The GRP tank was manufactured at the client’s production facility in Sharjah and transported to Abu Dhabi for final erection and installation. The project involved multiple critical lifting operations using a 250-ton mobile crane (or crawler crane, if applicable), requiring detailed lift planning, exclusion zone management, and continuous safety monitoring.
During the project, our HSE Engineer supervised a workforce of approximately 23 personnel, ensuring full compliance with UAE HSE regulations and project-specific safety requirements. Comprehensive risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) were conducted before each critical activity, while the following permit systems were implemented throughout the project:

Despite challenging site conditions, including high summer temperatures exceeding 45°C, heavy equipment movements, and restricted working areas, the installation was completed safely through proactive planning, effective communication, and continuous supervision.
